Test Taking Strategies
The PTE Academic Test Taking Strategies are now available on the website, and can be accessed via the following link:
These Test Taking Strategies provide test takers with specific ways to answer the 20 item types in PTE Academic more successfully. There are 20 self-study lessons which focus on three strategies they can use to respond to each item type in the test. The series takes a five-step approach to introducing and practicing the strategies. The Scope and Sequence provides an overview of the lessons and how to use them.

- PTE Academic Tutorial: This tutorial helps you in getting familiarized with the parts of the test, and how to respond to tasks.
- The Official Guide to PTE Academic: This book has audio CD and CD ROM that contains 200 sample questions.
- PTE Academic Coaching: You may take coaching from our recognized partners and language training providers. They provide coaching on all the four modules-listening, speaking, reading and writing.
- Scored Practice Test: The scored practice test is the replica of the actual PTE Academic test. You can take the test online, at your convenience.
- Un-Scored Practice Test: This test is free and provides access to questions and answers on the actual PTE Academic. It is both available in online and offline version.

New PTE Academic score requirements for UKBA Tier 4 student visa applications
The minimum scores required for Tier 4 student visa applications have been changed. Now the new scores are:
- B1 level: Minimum PTE Academic score of 36 across all four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
- B2 level: Minimum PTE Academic score of 51 across all four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Increase in the Number of Testing Sessions in South Asia to Help International Student Recruitment
There is an increase in the number of testing sessions this summer for PTE Academic, so that international students can fulfill language requirements for higher education opportunities and student Visas. PTE Academic is approved by the UK Border Agency (UKBA) and the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) for student visas, as well as colleges and universities worldwide.

PTE Academic Accepted by Australian Government for Student Visa Applications
The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has formally approved PTE Academic as fully satisfying the Government’s requirements for testing the English language proficiency of student visa applicants. The decision means that for the first time in ten years, Australian institutions and their potential students will have a choice of Government-approved English language testing options.
